Getting moved and settled in our new home in Alsace France was a monumental task with the great reward of being here surrounded by wonderful country people, endless cheeses, wines, and all the rest of what is the best of French culture.
The first painting is of the view from the vineyard side of Ennetbaden, Switzerland where we were quarantined for the first 10 days of arrival into Europe. There is a tributary of the Rhine that runs through this valley.

Our home in France is in a small village that sits along the Rhine River that boarders Germany.
We have been exploring many of the villages, and enjoying walks along the canals that
travel all through France, and the Alsace Lorraine Valley.
The image of a fisherman on the canal is a very iconic French image painted by French artists for over the last 300 yrs.
I thought it fitting to have my first painting of the French countryside follow in this tradition.
