Painting from June Lake Loop

This painting, "Carson Peak June Lake", from my last trip up to the Eastern Sierra early Autumn. I was asked to paint Carson Peak by a client, and after making a few drives through the June Lake Loop I chose early morning as the best light for Carson Peak. The afternoon and evening light put the entire mountain range in shadow.
