Yep,  we are moving to France.

We will be moving sometime in the next four months to a small French village, Volgelsheim, which sits on the boarder with Germany, eastern France.  Ergo, I have shut down painting of my beloved California in order to organize this move.

I look forward to exploring The landscapes of Western Europe, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria.  I have made numerous trips to Switzerland over the last 15 yrs, (my wife is Swiss), and have painted the Swiss Alps; can't wait to expand my travels to the mountains and valleys of the Alsace Region of France, western Germany and Austria, etc.

We bought a 200 yr old house with plenty of room to stretch out a bit, and with a attached studio that will allow for larger paintings than I

am able to do presently in my tiny studio space here in Ojai.

My website will stay the same, and I will continue to post my newsletter, posting new paintings, exhibition news, etc. from Europe.

I am very conflicted about having to leave California.  This is no longer the state where I was born and grew up.  It saddens me greatly

to see what has evolved to the worse.  My hope is that things may change over time, and that I may return sometime in the future.

Thank you for your interest in my work,

Victor Schiro

The Upper Owens River snakes along a huge meadow that elbows into Long Meadow where the local ranchers live. Beautiful expanse of grass land meadow for the moo s.
