This latest painting from my November trip to the Owens Valley is located in the North Owens Valley,
and is part of the wetlands formed from the increased water into to the Lower Owens River by the
DWP.

Point Mugu is just south of the Port Hueneme naval base. We often go there for the ritual of watching the
sun sink into the pacific, and this tiny painting is from one of those many sunsets.

This latest effort entitled "Aberdeen, Owens Valley" is located between Independence and Big Pine in
the Owens Valley. It use to be a kind of resort, and has become more of a little retirement community
over the years. I'm not sure I like the painting because it had so much in the way of tiny information to
paint, and didn't allow my brush to free-up with long brush strokes that I prefer to see on the surface
of a painting.

The location of "Owens River Inyo Mts." is pretty much in the middle of the Owens Valley.
many of the dirt roads that ribbon through out the Owens Valley cross the lower Owens River; it is
at the crossings that the river pipes under the dirt roads and comes out to form ponds.

...and now for something completely different...
Below find- first painting out of the oven after the holidays is, "Owens Valley Narrative" .
You will notice that there is a dust cloud evidenced on the left hand side of the painting; something,
someone, auto or horse perhaps must have just made it's exit stage right. This painting is for me, humorous.
I will not be doing anything like this again; promise.
